Welcome to Honeycomb!

I’m Tanya Aranguren, mother of three, wife, reader of escapist novels, hobbyist musician, and lover of organization in Washington, DC!

If you’re at all like me, you’re a busy bee buzzing around in a world of chaos where peace and harmony are mirages in a desert of cheap Amazon goods and free delivery services. We spend more time at home than ever, and we want our homes to be our havens, but it feels overwhelming to contain all the different purposes our home serves. We find ourselves buying more stuff to solve problems, but instead of creating order, it creates clutter. And a cluttered space is a cluttered mind! If only we could be organized, efficient, tidy. If we could have systems in our home that everyone in the family could easily follow and know their role, kinda like... a hive.

I believe that organization is not just about tidying up your physical space. It’s about finding balance and harmony in your life through creating a sense of order. I do this by an organization process that is intended to last.

  • Declutter

  • Contain

  • Systemize

  • Sustain

How do we do this? Space by space!

First, brainstorm with me. Think of all the activities that happen regularly in your home. I’ll use my own hive as an example. I have three active kids, I play in a band, and my husband works 100% at home.

  • Violin Practice

  • Homework

  • Cooking

  • Band Practice

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Telework

  • Laundry

  • Soccer

  • Working Out

All these activities need their own space and their own stuff, which means they must stay organized and have a system to sustain order. I suggest making a list of your spaces and prioritizing the ones that give you the most anxiety. Then let Honeycomb help you find harmony, space by space, in your home and — at the risk of sounding dramatic, I truly believe this — your LIFE!
